SIM Based Steering Solution Complements Evolved Intelligence SS7 Steering

Evolved Intelligence, the network value added services company, has launched a SIM based roaming steering solution.    This system recognises when a subscriber roams onto a foreign network and automatically downloads an updated preferred network list onto the SIM.  A SIM applet can also be supplied which will cause the handset to read this new list immediately. 

Says Robin Burton, Evolved Intelligence’s Head of Marketing: “SS7 based steering delivers the highest level of direct control and flexibility.   However it is subject to limitations on the level of steering targets which can be achieved in territories where an operator has more than three roaming partners.   SIM based steering works in tandem with SS7 steering to effectively remove these limitations and to deliver the capability to deliver high steering targets.”

The user can set roaming targets using a web based interface in precisely the same way as is used for the SS7 steering.    This interface also provides detailed feedback on the networks which subscribers are actually connecting to.
